Dolly Parton to be recognized for her music and charity work…
Carrie Underwood to light the Opry up pink…
Dolly Parton has been named the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year and will be honored at a ceremony in February.
She is the first country artist to receive the group’s recognition. Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, Bono, Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder are among the 28 past recipients.
In addition to her music, she is being honored for the Dollywood Foundation, which has been helpful in aiding child literacy around the world.
Carrie Underwood will flip the switch to turn the Grand Ole Opry’s iconic barn backdrop pink for breast cancer awareness on October 26th.
Carrie’s been an Opry member for 10 years and this is the 10th year of Opry Goes Pink. The two are teaming up to offer special ticket prices that include Carrie’s new album Cry Pretty, so you can Cry Pretty in Pink.
