Taylor Swift is a millipede…
Darius is going on tour…
There’s a newly discovered species of millipede named after Taylor Swift.
Nannaria swiftae is one of 16 new species that Virginia Tech scientists have discovered in the Appalachian mountains. Derek Hennen, the study’s lead author, named one of those species after his wife, and he named another after Taylor because he’s a big fan. He says, “Her music helped me get through the highs and lows of graduate school, so naming a new millipede species after her is my way of saying thanks.”
Darius Rucker has announced a run of summer show dates that will include stops at a handful of fairs, festivals and special events like his annual Darius and Friends benefit concert in Nashville.
Joining Darius on various dates throughout the tour are rising stars Tyler Booth, Daves Highway, Larry Fleet, Caylee Hammack, Ryan Hurd, Jameson Rodgers, Elvie Shane and Tenille Townes.
Darius and Tyler Booth will stop at Jacobs Pavilion on June 23rd.
