Eric Church’s five-year-old son Boone is on his payroll. He makes 10 bucks a show helping the choir — which sings on the opening number — get onto the stage in time. Eric says, “Boone’s got a radio, he’s got his flashlight, he’s got a little work belt and his pass, he goes in there, and he’ll make sure that the choir’s ready to go.”
Boone even negotiated a raise after he complained that his job was boring and that he was underpaid. Eric said all he could do was shake his head when he realized he got hustled by a 5-year-old.
A concert film honoring Waylon Jennings is set to air on CMT on April 7th.
Outlaw: Celebrating the Music of Waylon Jennings features Willie Nelson, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Alison Krauss, Toby Keith, Sturgill Simpson and more. It was filmed in Austin, Texas.
A CD and DVD of the concert will be released on the same day.
