Students at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville are now able to study Dolly Parton, who grew up not far from the school. Yes, this is for credit.
Honors students in the history department can take a class called “Course-Work: Dolly’s America.” Her memoir, Dolly: My Life will be required reading, along with books about the history of Appalachia.
Dolly seems to be happy about the recognition. She tweeted, “From the girl voted in high school ‘Least Likely to Succeed,’ This sure is a blessing.”
Jason Aldean is busy celebrating this week, after “Any ‘Ol Barstool” peaked at the top of the Mediabase Country Airplay chart over the weekend. Jason is not new to the celebration, this is his 19th #1 single.
