FGL breaks their own record…
Sam Hunt has other interests…
Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be” is at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for a 24th week, tying FGL’s own “Cruise,” which ruled for 24 weeks in 2012-13.
That is a record for the longest for a song by a duo or group in the chart’s 59-year history, and the second-longest overall. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” holds the record with 34 weeks at No. 1 in 2017.
Has Sam Hunt has lost interest in music?
Even though he just released “Downtown’s Dead” — his first single in more than a year — and will appear on some of Luke Bryan’s stadium shows, he doesn’t know where his career is heading.
Sam says, “I’ve grown up a little bit since my first record, and I feel my first record was inspired by an era of my life that really left with something to say and something to sing about. And at this point…I’ve gotten into some other things outside of music that I really enjoy. Just other interests of mine that have nothing to do with music.”
But that doesn’t mean he’s done with music. He says he’s been experimenting with some ideas, but just hasn’t found anything he wants to release. He hopes to find some inspiration on the road this summer.
